A tenement house from the beginning of the 1920s. The greatest surprise from the first visit: preserved Art-Deco elements – in the outside, in common areas in the house and, amazingly, also in the flat – in details and small pieces of equipment. The first impression that affected the entire design concept. A new, modern layer, but, at the same time, “as if they did it then” (= how I imagine they might do it then) – a form of an intervention with a bit of overstatement.
Demolition of several disturbing built-in structures, minor spatial corrections. Distinctive colour scheme derived and developed from the tones present in the house. Custom made furniture – individual pieces fixed into specific spaces, dedicated for specific purposes. The joy of housing, the joy of using.
